Pastor Erik Harvey
God has a plan.
In his mid twenties, Erik Harvey was at a breaking point. He was aimless, anxious, and consumed with alcoholism and drugs. At a professional convention in Atlanta, a businessman gave an invitation to accept Christ. Erik was convicted, and accepted Jesus as his Lord. Over the next several months, God stripped the vices plaguing Erik. Erik plugged in to a vibrant church called "Resurrection Life" as God began to work purpose in his heart.
God is faithful.
While pursuing God's best in the local church, Erik Harvey was invited to become a deacon under Pastor Duane Vander Klok, who encouraged a heart for missions. There, he met and married his love, Johanna, at church, and began his family. Together, they had four children, Erikiah (who later married Pastor Joe Bevelacqua), Jonicah Joy (who later married Kevin Gerhardt), Christian, and Johniah (who later married Pastor Brian Cappiello).
Later, Erik was invited by Pastor Paul Ruzinsky at Resurrection Life Church - Newaygo (now Resonate Church) to become a children's, family, and missions pastor. He served as a pastor there for nearly 25 years.
After a long battle with breast cancer, Johanna went home to be with the
Lord. Though serving in ministry does not make you immune to the
obstacles of life - it does give you a front seat to becoming relatable
to those in your care.
God has more.
After a combined 30 years serving the church, Pastor Erik is sent with blessing into his next phase of ministry: "The Pastor's Friend." TPF was born from a heart to reach the un-churched, de-churched, and the far from God - locally and globally.
Pastor Erik truly believes that the best days for The Church are ahead of us! Always on mission.
